Through the twists and turns of the case, Grace and Sam open up to each other about their baggage and grow closer。 But will the killer put an end to their budding romance? I really enjoyed Sam and Grace’s story。 The spunky profiler and the troubled shrink had a great dynamic together and made this a quick read and a truly enjoyable journey。 It gave me some of the same vibes as the tv show Prodigal Son, where the son of a serial killer becomes a profiler。 Sam has a much better handle on his life than the character in the show, though he’s been through a lot because of it and still deals with the trauma。 Grace has her own demons- she still blames herself for something that happened when she was a teenager and the effect a choice she made has had on her brother and the relationships with her family。 This depth in the characters made me super invested in the story even after I (correctly) suspected who the killer was - though I didn’t see all of the connections until the end! All the twists kept me guessing and rooting for our heroes。 I also want to say how much I enjoyed the development of Sam’s kids。 They felt super genuine and well drawn out。 I enjoyed the brief callbacks to Grace’s friends (the main characters in the rest of the series) and I am truly looking forward to the final book in the series later this year。 It’s always a joy to read a Lynette Eason book。 It never fails to check all of the romantic suspense boxes for me! I received a complementary copy of this novel from the author and publisher and was not asked to leave a positive review。 My opinions are completely my own。 。。。more

Critical Threat by Lynette Eason is book three in the Extreme Measures series。 While this is a series, this story is also an outstanding stand alone story。 This is a very well written story that is filled with action, suspense and mystery with touches of family life and romance。 This story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held it to the very end。 I was kept guessing as to who the murderer could be and why until the story disclosed the identity。This is such a good story。 It shows Critical Threat by Lynette Eason is book three in the Extreme Measures series。 While this is a series, this story is also an outstanding stand alone story。 This is a very well written story that is filled with action, suspense and mystery with touches of family life and romance。 This story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held it to the very end。 I was kept guessing as to who the murderer could be and why until the story disclosed the identity。This is such a good story。 It shows the closeness and brotherhood the agents have towards each other as well as the occasional differences they have。 This story focuses on a serial killer and murders and drug additions。 I especially liked the interactions between Sam and his former mother-in-law。 I appreciate Grace’s family dynamics in how they deal with her brother’s addiction and repeated hospital and treatment stays。I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review。 。。。more

Yes, because there is really nothing in the entire plot that leads to this unknown character。 No red herrings or even a mention of his name until the climactic moment。 I wanted this person to play around the edges of the story to make the villain a little more believable for audiences。 Overall, Critical Threat by Lynette Eason is a dynamic suspense story with a serial killer, and Eason delivers exactly what she promised。 A non-stop action story with a hint of romance。 A keeper for my shelf。I received a complimentary copy of Critical Threat by Lynette Eason from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own。 。。。more

There are many twist and turns in this book and it would make a great movie。 I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion。 。。。more

The plot in this story is amazing。 The storyline moves at an incredibly fast pace making it very hard to put down。 Many twists and turns keep the reader engaged throughout the story。 The romance is very much in the background in comparison to many romantic suspense novels, and I am very much ok with that。 I really prefer the mystery and suspense to be front and center in my reads。The characters are interesting, and they definitely have fascinating jobs。 The whole idea of how they try to catch a The plot in this story is amazing。 The storyline moves at an incredibly fast pace making it very hard to put down。 Many twists and turns keep the reader engaged throughout the story。 The romance is very much in the background in comparison to many romantic suspense novels, and I am very much ok with that。 I really prefer the mystery and suspense to be front and center in my reads。The characters are interesting, and they definitely have fascinating jobs。 The whole idea of how they try to catch a serial killer has always fascinated me。 How does one try to think like them? Or figure the why of such evil? These are just a few interesting topics this book will cover。I’d really liked it if this book had a strong faith theme throughout。 It does give onetowards the end for which I was thankful。 If you are a clean reads suspense fan, you don’t want to miss this one。I received this book from the publisher。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

4 1/2 stars!I absolutely loved this book! This is the first book I’ve read by Lynette Eason and now I need to read all her previous books。 This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time。 It definitely had some Silence of the Lambs vibes without the gory details。 The action, nail-biting suspense, slow build romance, mystery, and inspirational messages, had me devouring this book in just a few days。 It was impossible to put down。 FBI Special Agent Grace Billingsley has her hands full when 4 1/2 stars!I absolutely loved this book! This is the first book I’ve read by Lynette Eason and now I need to read all her previous books。 This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time。 It definitely had some Silence of the Lambs vibes without the gory details。 The action, nail-biting suspense, slow build romance, mystery, and inspirational messages, had me devouring this book in just a few days。 It was impossible to put down。 FBI Special Agent Grace Billingsley has her hands full when a copy cat serial killer is abducting and killing middle aged women。 A fellow psychiatrist Sam Monroe is called in to help especially since the killer has a similar MO as his serial killer father currently in prison。 Grace met Sam previously at a conference and really liked him。 She hoped to build on their connection, but Sam didn’t contact her again。 Working together on this case is a little awkward at first, but they grow closer as they get to know each other and open up about their pasts。The killer becomes obsessed with Grace after he watches her at his victim’s crime scene and begins stalking her。 As the clues pile up, Sam realizes his father may have insider information but will he get his father to cooperate before it’s too late? It’s a race against time to catch the killer before he strikes again and prevent Grace from becoming his next victim。 I enjoyed Grace and Sam! Grace carries a lot of guilt over her brother which becomes even more burdensome as the story progresses。 Sam is a real support to her as they’re trying to solve the case all while dealing with their own personal issues。 Grace is easy to talk to and carries a humility about her that makes it easy for Sam to open up to her。 Despite his reluctance to start a new relationship, he finds a deep connection with Grace。 I enjoyed the way they were both able to be honest with each other about their past failings。 I also liked Sam’s two teenage children。 They were both likable and written in a believable, intelligent way。 The killer is down right creepy! The way he goes after Grace and his ability to change his appearance had me constantly on edge。 It’s amazing how much the author was able to pack into this book! I thoroughly enjoyed not only the fast paced suspense, but also the romance, relationships, and element of faith woven into the story。 It’s a page turner that will have you staying up late into the night。 Highly recommend to romantic suspense and Christian fiction readers。 I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley。 All opinions are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review。 。。。more

With Critical Threat, Lynette Eason once again proves that her books are "must reads" for fans of romantic suspense。 On page one I was pulled into the story and the mind of the killer and then quickly introduced to the female lead, Grace。 She is likeable, brave, good at her job, and compassionate。 Her counterpart, Sam, is a single dad and devoted to his children。 I don't want to give any of the plot away, so I'll just let you know that the many twists and turns will keep a very high level of int With Critical Threat, Lynette Eason once again proves that her books are "must reads" for fans of romantic suspense。 On page one I was pulled into the story and the mind of the killer and then quickly introduced to the female lead, Grace。 She is likeable, brave, good at her job, and compassionate。 Her counterpart, Sam, is a single dad and devoted to his children。 I don't want to give any of the plot away, so I'll just let you know that the many twists and turns will keep a very high level of interest all the way to the end of the book。 The dialogue flows naturally。 The action and suspense are off-the-chart! The conclusion is emotional and satisfying。 I definitely recommend Critical Threat to readers of romantic suspense。I received a complimentary copy through NetGalley from the publisher。 。。。more

Action packed from the beginning。 Grace and Sam are trying to stop a serial killer who has set his sights on Grace。 Grace is a profiler and Sam is a prison psychiatrist who also happens to be the son of a serial killer now residing in the prison where Sam works。 Is his dad involved? Sam needs to find out before the killer strikes again。 An action packed, suspense filled story with lots of twists and turns。
